What drives you to show up each day and give your best at Valley?
For me, it's seeing the difference we can make in someone's life. I love watching people come into our services, grow in confidence and achieve their goals. Knowing that people rely on me to be there each day gives me a real sense of purpose.
Everyone deserves the same opportunities, respect and quality of life, regardless of disability. Being part of helping someone achieve that is what keeps me motivated.
Why is supporting people with disability and their families important to you?
I've been around people with disability for as long as I can remember. My grandparents drove the school bus for children with disability, and as a kid I used to go along on the runs with them. Those experiences stayed with me.
I believe everyone deserves to be treated equally and included. One of the best parts of my job is hearing participants share experiences with me, and knowing you've helped make it happen is pretty special.
What’s one thing you’re proud to be part of at Valley?
I'm proud to be part of our Supported Living team because you get to see real changes in people's lives. I've seen someone’s quality of life change after they’ve moved into Supported Living, where they've become confident, happy and started getting out into the community every day. That's a huge change in someone's life and reminds me why this work matters.
I’ve been lucky enough to work with so many amazing teams within Valley and have had some great mentors who have encouraged and supported me along the way.
