What part of your role as CEO gives you the greatest sense that you're making a difference at Valley?
When the people we support feel comfortable enough to approach me with the successes in their lives, it always makes me feel 10 feet tall that they see me as worthy of sharing their important moments.
Why is supporting people with disability and their families important to you?
Enabling families impacted by disabilities to restore the ordinary relationships we all enjoy is so important to me. To transform from a carer to resume the role of parent, child or sibling to a person with a disability is a basic right which I am proud to play some part in.
What’s one thing you’re proud to be part of at Valley?
I’ll say two things. One is our historic focus on supporting clients to attain the pride and independence a meaningful job brings – it is a right all people should be entitled to access. Second is that Valley always says ‘Yes’ – we don’t turn away difficult cases and will always give our best. This is hard, and I am very proud to lead a team willing to work that hard to improve the lives of others.
